President
- I basically oversee everything that goes on in MASA. Is
further explanation needed? If so, contact me at egd3@mail.utexas.edu
(I’m mainly here to answer questions).
VP
of Public Relations - I am in charge of getting
MASA’s name into the public vocabulary and promoting MASA
events. I will be enlisting MASA members throughout the year
to help media blitz campus (put up flyers everywhere, etc.).
Also, [will be in charge of making t-shirts, buttons, and
bumper stickers . . . so if anyone is creative and artistic, I
could sure use some help.
I am a Plan II Spanish sophomore. I am also involved in Ransom
Notes (a cappella group), Blazers (service group), and I lead
a Bible Study with my church. I am very excited about the
prospects of this group. It’s going to be big... now’s
your only chance to be a charter member.

VP Funds - Jeremy Sylestine

The
Vice President of Funds is
responsible for all financial transactions dealing with MASA.
This includes collecting and depositing dues, providing
reimbursement to group members for all incurred costs
concerning MASA, and planning the MASA fundraiser.
I’m a Junior Italian / French major planning to attend law
school after graduation. I come from Livingston, Texas where I
lived for 15 years of my life. I love the Astros and the new
Houston NFL franchise (whatever they decide to call it), and
can’t stand animal abuse. MASA is a top priority for
me, and I’d like to see it taken to levels that will
surprise even us.

The
VP of Campus & Community
Involvement seeks out campus and community projects
to be involved in which further MASA’s purpose. This
includes (but is not limited to) other student group’s
projects or events, working with the rape crisis center, and
working with other such organizations.
I am a sophomore
Plan II / Philosophy major who enjoys playing guitar and
violin and swimming in my spare time. In the past I have
worked with political organizations such as the Campaign to
End the Death Penalty and the UT Anti-Racist Organizing
Committee. I am committed to working for social justice for
all people, and as member of MASA, I will work hard towards
the reduction of sexual violence in our society through
education and collective action. I am glad to be working with
MASA.

The
VP Membership is
responsible for all membership drives during the course of the
year and to monitor member attendance. Because this is not a
very time-consuming job, except at the beginning of the
semester, the VP Membership should help out the organization
wherever he is needed.
I am a Plan II/Business Honors — Marketing Junior. On campus, I am also
involved with Beta Upsilon Chi (worship leader), Ransom Notes
(musical director), and Texas Blazers (secretary). In my free
time, or lack thereof, I enjoy basketball, football, writing
music, and movies. I am a huge Dallas Mavericks fan.
