About UT Roller Hockey
We currently have about 18 players on the team making up 2 teams, an "A" and a "B". We strive to have both squads compete at the top of their ability and division, while still maintaining a fun atmosphere to improve your skills and enjoy the game of hockey. We start our season at the beginning of the Fall semester, but are more than happy to accept players after the season has started
We practice every Wednesday night at Austin Sports Arena (austinsportsarena.com) . We also car pool to practice and all out of town tournaments, so if you don't have a car we are more than happy to find you a ride. Players are required to wear: hockey roller skates, shin guards, elbow pads, gloves, helmet, hockey pants and jersey. However, if you do not have any piece of equipment we can either help you obtain it or recommend one for purchase. Most of our players have an Ice Hockey background and find the transition to roller a fairly easy one. We provide a great atmosphere for all players to play hockey, from the first time skater to the burnt out travel hockey player that wants to keep his passion for hockey alive. Dues are much cheaper than Ice hockey and typically range from $300-$400 for the entire year. These include all league fees, practice times, and hotel stay for out of town tournaments.
