About Us
Women in Medicine is a student organization that encourages and supports the professional and medical interests of UT students concerned with the issues affecting women entering the health field. WIM promotes the exchange of ideas and interaction within the organization and is committed to sponsoring programs that will make students aware of options available in medical professions. Programs include speakers from medical fields, socials, volunteer opportunities and trips to medical schools. This organization is made up of a diverse group of members including pre-med, pre-dent, pre-nursing, physical therapy, pre-vet, pre-PA, clinical lab sciences, and allied health fields.
This year we celebrate twenty-two fulfilling years of addressing the special concerns of UT pre-health women (and men too!). This semester promises to be outstanding for our members, with a multitude of professional speakers from different areas and specialties, a wide network of volunteer events across the Austin community, social and fundraising events, half-scholarships to test preparation courses, and much, much more! By the end of the year we know that individual members will be closer to reaching their own dreams and at the same time help fellow members achieve their goals as well.
