What I think about WIM: I love WIM! It's an awesome place to meet friendly, like-minded people. I visited a few other clubs before Women in Medicine, and it is by far the most welcoming of them all! You get the opportunity to meet tons of new friends, to talk to doctors who were once in your shoes, and to get involved in your community. What more can you ask for?

What I think about WIM: It's an awesome place to meet a group of girls that understand exactly what you're going through - and there are older girls who can help give recommendations on professors, which always helps. The girls are so much fun and make every event a blast. There is something for everyone in the group and you won't regret joining!

My stress reliever: Stress baking
What I think about WIM: Coming to UT, there are many pre-health organizations, but I really feel that WIM has the best combination of opportunities, information, and community. Through WIM, I've met tons of amazing gals with similar aspirations and learned greatly about different medical fields. Even if you think you know exactly what you want to do, I feel different perspectives are always useful, and WIM helps provide that knowledge with the different speakers. Basically, WIM is kind of generally awesome.

FINANCIAL DIRECTOR: Crystal Ly
Contact Email: crystal.m.ly@gmail.com
Hometown: Bronx, New York
Year: Third year/Class of 2013
Major and Area of Interest: B.S. Human Biology, Pathogenesis and Immunity; Bridging Disciplines Program, Social Inequality, Health and Policy
When I grow up, I want to be: A medic of any sort, or a tiger tamer/ninja with a side of graphic designing. But I'll settle for saving people's lives in the health care sector.
Favorite Music Artist: Rise Against, Metric, Linkin Park, Big Bang; can I say everything?
Favorite Food: Anything with an Asian or Italian influence. And chicken is the best.
Favorite Vacation Spot: I haven't been around enough (note to self: travel the world).
Before I die, I want to: Visit the coral reefs, swim with the dolphins, and live in an igloo. And profoundly affect someone's life for the better.
My stress reliever: Reading and looking up miscellaneous how-to stuff.
What I think about WIM: Women in Medicine is amazing. I've flitted around with other clubs, but WIM was perfect for me, even though I didn't realize it when I first joined. It's a good sized club; not too large that you'll never see the same people, but not too small to be unable to fund cool events like HOPE Africa. The club is well organized and run, and the officers are fun and accessible. I hope to continue their great work and hope to see you there!

What I think about WIM: I can say, without a doubt, that WIM has been my favorite and most important organization to be a part of here at UT. The camaraderie I have between some of the amazing ladies here is something I've always thrived on. I love the idea that such a diverse group of people with a spectrum of perspectives can have such a passion for the field of medicine. WIM definitely offers the opportunity to gain the knowledge and credentials needed for the medical field. But more importantly, it allows you to have some of the best fun you've ever had, making some life-long friends along the way.
