The following are Volunteer Opportunities available in Austin on and off the UT campus. If you have a few extra hours a week, and you'd like to help protect Choice and Reproductive rights & health, don't hesitate to volunteer your time.

South by Southwest Tabling

March 15th, 16th, and 17th at the Austin Convention Center. Planned Parenthood will have an information table at the music trade show, which is open during the following times:

Thursday, March 15 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Friday, March 16 from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Saturday, March 17 from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Volunteers are needed for three-hour shifts on Thursday and Friday and two-hour shifts on Saturday.

Planned Parenthood

The downtown Planned Parenthood Clinic is always in need of volunteers! The clinic is located on E. 7th St., and you can help all day or just for a few hours. If you're interested in a fun volunteer opportunity, contact Emily Cowley at 499-0043.


 

Safer Sex Study!

 

Volunteers are needed for a research study sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing, conducted by a graduate nursing student.

"Meanings of Safe Sexual Behavior for Young Adult Women"

If you would like to participate, you must be 18-25, unmarried, speak English and have had a sexual partner in last year. Participation involves one 20-30 minute interview that will be confidential and anonymous.

Participants will receive $10 for their time.

The Rosie Jiménez Project helps locate funds (And provide support) for abortion to women on public assistance. This is a constant service provided by TARAL and they always need assistance. Volunteer your time.

Volunteer for AIDS Services of Austin!

ASA always needs volunteers, especially in their Prevention Department. If you would like to give a few hours to preventing the spread of HIV in Austin, you can help pass out condoms to the public and/or education the public with ASA. Contact Rachel and she'll set you up with this very rewarding volunteer opportunity.
